This weekend I had the pleasure of working with Jenn Ryan again for a jewelry photography session. My father is a jeweler (Rocky Mountain Jewelry) in Ridgway, Colorado. I am working on promotional materials for him. I offered to photograph some of his pieces for the brochure and postcards, so he got a box together and sent it. Photographing anything reflective is a challenge. I enjoyed learning more about photographing jewelry through this experience. Please see for yourselves, his work is beautiful. He makes EVERYTHING by hand and uses only fine metals (no cheap nickel, etc. you can often find in southwestern jewelry). Every piece he makes is unique. You’ll see several photographs below of his signature piece, the mountain bracelet. These are his renderings from mother nature’s beauty. He can do any mountain range, as long as a photograph is provided. Aren’t they gorgeous? If you’re ever in southwest Colorado, stop by his shop and look at his work in person.
